Oh Alice in Wonderland, how I loved that book (and still do!) when I was younger. I fantasized about falling through the rabbit hole and into the magical world of Wonderland, following Alice through her adventures. These days, I am in love with country, old fashioned weddings- especially when sunflowers are involved! Imagine, a beautiful sunflower wedding theme! I think this is such a rustic and romantic theme, which of course is very prominent within wedding trends for this upcoming wedding season. Sunflowers are such big, bold and beautiful flowers that stand out at your wedding, creating a happy and light-hearted ambiance to your wedding.

When I came across this wedding photo shoot, I was smiling from ear to ear. It is exactly the rustic and happy go lucky feel that I picture when thinking of this theme. I love how sunflowers are present throughout the whole wedding- from throwing petals over the bride and groom as they walk outside the chapel doors, to cute sunflower wreaths to decorate the outside venue, to luscious bride and bridesmaids bouquets.

This couple certainly had fun planning their wedding, as you should too! When I came across this romantic old fashioned country story on GreenWeddingShoes, of a couple that met on a real life cattle drive, which included over a 100 horses and mules being herded over 4 days across 100 miles of rugged terrain, I was thoroughly inspired and impressed. The couple knew their wedding of course had to be inspired by how they met, continuing with the western romantic country theme. They had dreamed of an old fashioned country wedding.

Of course if you’re planning an old fashioned country wedding you need to have the perfect location picked out, and of course the accompanying accessories. Choose a rustic barn location, in late spring or summer, when the warm breeze will pass through the fields and give off an amazing aroma.

As a wedding invitation designer, I am always on the hunt for the latest wedding trends and themes, as brides and of course I, want and need to be up to date on whats popular. One thing that I have noticed, is how neutral colors are always prominent within the wedding trend cycle. There are constantly brides who dream and lust after planning a classic black and white wedding.

Paris. Said by many, is the most romantic city in the world.
